~Welcome~

I’m Niki (she-they)

I’m so glad that you are here

therapy therapist anxiety couple relationship trauma depression grie

Niki Koumoutsos (she-they), LMHC

The therapeutic journey requires courage and patience – it ebbs & flows. Sometimes it will feel easy, sometimes it will be agitating, and all the ways in between. It takes guts to deeply explore your suffering to become your most authentic self.

I know from my own personal work how radical the unraveling process can be and I am honored to support you wherever you may be on your healing journey.

My approach to therapy contextualizes suffering as systemic, complex, and intersecting between the person and the world. Over any technique or method, I emphasize the importance of our relationship.

This allows us to create a holistic and relational framework that considers us as people in the room.

I believe that healing begins with supportive and compassionate relationships.

You deserve to live and move more freely in the world.

If you don’t tell your story, you’re left with gaping holes.

A BIT MORE - OTHER WORK
Things related to my work as a therapist and deeply inform my practice.

Currently, I am adjunct faculty in the Psychology Department at Seattle University.

My research interests are around embodied activism and ethics in its most daily and mundane practices.

How we can use our bodies as systems to train ourselves to have more relational empathy for others,

particularly within anti-oppression work.

I have presented at Psychology for the Other (2021) a conference on Levinas hosted by Seattle University.

I was also invited to present at The Focusing Institute’s The Third Felt Sense Conference (2022).

I have also been honored to be interviewed both by Rae Johnson, PhD, for their 2023 book, Embodied Activism and

Kaleb Sinclair for an episode of his Race Relations Podcast (to be released).
